Artist Statement
This series is a profound reflection on the fleeting nature of time and its transcendental impact on our lives. It is a moving testament to the ephemeral nature of each moment, as time slips through our fingers like sand in an hourglass. The very title, «Tempus Fugit,» derived from an ancient verse written by the illustrious Latin poet Virgil over two millennia ago, resonates with the eternal truth of the swift passage of time. In this artwork, my aim has been to capture the complexity of human emotions and the inherent fragility of our existence.
In «Tempus Fugit,» the vividly colored figure created in oil becomes a reflection of the present, as if it were an instant captured on the canvas. On the other hand, the blurred image that emerges from the image transfer represents the relentless march of time, where forms fade and intertwine, symbolizing the transience of each moment.
As an artist, my aspiration is to generate a deep and emotive connection between the viewer and my artwork. I invite you to delve into the depths of your own existence, to reflect on the fleeting nature of time, and to feel the urgency of seizing each moment.
